Mom came to Serenity House in 2007, and although her dementia allowed her to do little except stare out of the window, my Dad never left her side. She was the love of his life for over 40 years, so it was no surprise that her wanted to live out his final days at Serenity House looking out of the same window as his lovely wife. When Dad’s time was near, I called Serenity House hoping beyond hope, that my Mom’s old room was available. I cried when I was told that “his” room was ready and waiting for him. God has plans and He brought Serenity House into our lives to truly make the final moments better for both my Mom and Dad. I have no doubt that my Dad is now in the arms of his beloved.

To have a place such as Serenity House, has dome much to restore my faith that basic goodness, humanity and concern for our fellow man really continues to exist, and exists in our own community.
